Here are your stay options

Wild Song Eco Cabin

Best for a Couple (or Two Couples)

Wild Song Eco Cabin is nestled away in the deep boreal wilderness, on the very edge of pristine Winnipeg River that spreads into infinite channels, bogs, bays, and islands for endless exploration in kayaks, canoes, or electric motor boat. There are sparse neighbors eastward in the channel, but anywhere else is limitless water and crown land you can explore. For the sunset, you can land on one of the islands for a picnic and a swim. It's a paradise for those who want to be undisturbed and immersed in untouched Canadian Shield nature.

Wild Song Eco Cabin is ideal for one couple, with a king size bed (with posh hotel bedding) in a small heated cabin, large screened porch living room where you are one with the elements yet untouched by bugs, heated outdoor shower, state-of-the-art incinerating toilet, kayaks, canoes, and a boat with an optional electric motor. Oh, and did we mention your own wood sauna and your own small 9.9HP motorboat that requires no boating license.

There's a chain of private trails north and west around the cabin, only for you as you will never meet a human being there. Water by the cabin is too shallow to swim, but the area has several tiny cute beaches you can find on your explorations (see the map), or you can swim of any rock cliff nearby.

During the day, explore anywhere and you will find amazingness wherever you go. During the evening, we highly recommend packing food and drinks (no alcohol allowed in boats) and heading west to any of the few islands on the open expansive Winnipeg River. There you can lay on sun-heated granite rocks and watch spectacular sunsets. Or just stay home and spend the evening perched on the high cliff swingling bench watching wildlife and occasional passerby boat.

Remember drinking alcohol in water vessels might cost you your driver's license. Also, absolutely no loud parties! Please respect our neighbors Bruce and Lana. There is an eagle nest right above the cabin, and the eagles will be watching you.

We strongly recommend that you use the motorboat only to get to the place and back to the marina. There are rocks around (some unmarked), so there is a risk of damaging the engine of the boat.

Our favorite way to explore is to throw two fully solar-panel-charged batteries into the boat, lift the gas motor, drop the electric motor, and enjoy an almost soundless lazy slow cruise. This way you can check out every nook you see. You do not have to worry as much about hitting rocks with the electric engine (but still don't do it). Do not forget the paddles - it's illegal. Check battery charge on the electric engine occasionally. Make sure you charge the batteries on the dock after use.

If you decide to bring another couple with you (4 people max please), they can sleep in any of the two places upstairs (one is heated right above your bedroom, and one is unheated above the porch). There are mattresses and cot beds there, but your friends will have to bring their own sleeping bags, as we do not provide extra bedding.

We have a small fridge, so you might need to bring your food in coolers with plenty of ice. If you run out of ice, you can boat back to the marina to pick some up. You can fill up in the marina as well.

Waters around there are full of pickerel. Please never bring fish into the porch or cabin. Use the outdoor cleaning station.

Please never ever leave food or garbage outside.

In winter, you can't find a more isolated place than Wild Song Eco Cabin. You will have to park in the parking lot by the highway and walk in for about 25 minutes, bringing everything with you. You turn the heat on in the cabin and fire up the sauna. The river never freezes properly, so you will never see a snowmobile there, and you will never see a human there in winter. You can play on ice but only closer to the shore. The winter stay is marked by complete isolation, silence, contemplation with no distraction, and hot wood sauna mixed with snow baths (that combo will make you feel alive for sure).

Remember to take home everything you bring with you, including garbage.

The description of how everything works can be found around the amenities.

This is our favorite place in the world. Please respect it, And of course enjoy the infinite beauty of days and nights at Wild Song Eco Cabin.
